Air source heat pump in a large 2000’s built property

Spring 2025

In a relatively new build build property and of course newly constructed homes today, the improvements in the use of insulation in building fabric and modern building practices, mean that they are much easier to heat and stay warm. That was the case for this project in Crich. This large 7 bedroom property, had been built to a good specification in the early 2000’s, also benefiting from underfloor heating on the ground floor. When considering a new heat source, we had the perfect solution for this propoerty - the Vaillant Arotherm Plus 12kw 3 phase air source heat pump.

The homeowner here is a keen Eco enthusiast and at the time of install had recently had a solar and battery installation which will complement the heat pump installation wonderfully for years to come. Furthermore, on his Eco crusade - the homeowner was keen to retain all of the existing radiators and monitor performance through the coming year. If they feel that radiator upgrades are required, we can carry these out at a later date, which should allow us to lower the flow temperature over time and further improve the efficiency of this system.

As ever, thanks to the robust Heat Geek Guarantee, the customer has peace of mind knowing that the system is designed to deliver a minimum SCOP of 4.5 (equivalent to 450% efficiency). As certified Heat Geek affiliates, we stand by our work and guarantee to put things right if the system underperforms.
